Laurie L. Stark, PhD, RN
Past Chair

Laurie Stark, Phd, RN, is honored to have served the SNRS membership as the 2010-2011 Chair of the Qualitative RIG. Since the RIG met in Austin, Texas last February, Laurie joined the faculty at the University of South Florida College of Nursing and defended her dissertation at the University of Central Florida College of Nursing. Laurie’s journey with qualitative research began at the first SNRS conference she attended while completing her doctoral course work. Through the mentorship of the qualitative nurse researchers she met there and the work of other qualitative researchers, her dissertation came into being. Laurie’s phenomenological description of the lived experience of creating art for women with breast cancer is her first qualitative study.
